Meet Our New Neighbours

Meet Our New Neighbours

Meet our new neigbours. These woolly guys have just taken up residency in the field behind the cottage.

That's the beauty of the cottage backing onto farmland, the view regularly changes. We often have cattle in there during the warmer months.

There's no mistaking our rural location.

Yorkshire Cheeses

Yorkshire Cheeses

A round up of the best Yorkshire cheeses to eat with your Christmas cake.

Now to some that may seem a bit of an odd thing to do, but wait until you've tried it.

Some ideas here from Yorkshire Life Magazine :http://www.yorkshirelife.co.uk/home/christmas/6_of_the_best_christmas_cheeses_from_yorkshire_1_4804479

Yorkshire Pubs To Eat In

Yorkshire Pubs To Eat In

Here's pudding in the village pub, The Grapes
On this occasion coffee creme brulee and shortbread. Yes, it tasted as good as it looks!

It's no surprise that The Grapes is a go-to pub for locals. It's not a fancy gastro-pub just a small, traditional Yorkshire pub with great food and a warm Yorkshire welcome at it's heart.

I can't wait to go back!

Malton Game and Seafood Festival

Malton Game and Seafood Festival

It’s tomorrow! And it’s going to be epic.

Once again Malton will become awash with local food producers and market stalls. The town will be taken over!

There’ll be cooking demos and classes and this year Antonio Carluccio will be there. It was he who first called Malton “Yorkshire’s Food Capital”. And he’s been proven right.

I’d recommend you arrive early to get parked, as it’s going to be busy.

Old Yorkshire Pub

Old Yorkshire Pub

I was lucky enough to passing here – The Royal Oak in Old Malton and in need of a glass of wine!
In the warmer months their pretty beer garden is perfect for al fresco eating and drinking.
This pub is situated in Old Malton, on the edge of Malton, just off the A64 and not surprising there are lots of old houses, cottages and buidlings here.

I would recommend a stop off for sure, if you’re passing.
