York’s story with chocolate goes back many many years and there’s a brand new exhibition which explores the contribution the people of York have made to the cities great chocolate industry.
From the thousands of factory workers who manned the production lines, to the founding fathers, whose inventiveness and dedication created world famous brands still produced in the city. Explore the social history and fascinating stories of the people who made York the UK’s home of chocolate.
The 3 stages of this year’s Tour de Yorkshire have recently been announced.
Stage 1- Beverley to Settle, Friday 29 April
Stage 2 – Otley to Doncaster, Saturday 30 April
Stage 3 – Middlesbrough to Scarborough, Sunday 1 May

Spring Cottage is perfectly positioned to watch Le Tour on Stage 3 from Kirbymoorside or Hutton le Hole. I don’t envy them that hill is rather long and intense!
