Apples from the Spring Cottage garden

Apples from the Spring Cottage garden

If you’re staying with us across September, do help yourself to the apples on the tree.

I couldn’t let this windfall go to waste so after much deliberation, I opted for our family favourite – apple and blackberry crumble. The blackberries also came from the garden.

The potaotes in the veg patch are also waiting to be dug up and enjoyed, perhaps with some fresh mint?

Just help yourself!

Yorkshire Holiday Cottage Garden

Yorkshire Holiday Cottage Garden

The garden is a really special feature and it’s looking particularly colourful at the moment. The colour purple is definitely dominating!

The alliums are planted all around the garden and they are my personal favourite.

Now’s the time to come to enjoy the rolling display.

I think the tulips in the garden are my favourite flower. These start to bloom anytime from early April to late May.
They'll then be followed by alliums and no doubt I will then think that the alliums are my favourite!

That's what I love so much about Spring Cottage's garden – it changes week on week, month on month. Whatever time of year you visit there's always something different to marvel at.

Yorkshire holiday cottage – time to enjoy the garden

Yorkshire holiday cottage – time to enjoy the garden

A glass of al fresco fizz anyone?

Now the weather's started to warm up, the garden furniture has been been taken from the shed, cleaned, waxed and polished. Just waiting for you to enjoy spending some downtime in the garden.
And what a cottage garden it is!

So grab the fizz and celebrate being in holiday (what better excuse!)

Not a bad view to wake up to is it?

The garden backs onto open fields and at certain times of the year you'll find calves trying to pop their heads through the back hedge!

The patio's a real sun trap – so be warned! And that lawn – perfect for croquet or what!
